-

Here I am again professing my undying love for Vampire Weekend. Now I know their new album has been up on iTunes for a few weeks now but it was only yesterday that I realized, OH MY GOD VAMPIRE WEEKEND. I was a bit disappointed when it came out because I can't give it a listen right away (it really sucks not having an Apple account and a credit card.... but I'm okay.)

Anyway, three songs from their new album, Modern Vampires of the City, are streamed on youtube and here they are:

This is probably my favorite song off their new album and i don't know why but whenever I listen to this song, every bad feeling goes away and the good vibes start to radiate my system and I sound weird (maybe) but I am really in love with this song. Please understand oh my god. I could listen to this song for 89479832 years and never get tired of it....

My point is, Vampire Weekend is one of the bands who keep on getting better and better in time. And I know I should be stating reasons why I love them and how I see their music as a fan and a supporter of their music, but is it really necessary? (it's not that I ran out of words to say; believe me, I do sometimes but okay let's face it, I have better reasons hehe.)

I can't describe how this band makes me happy and ecstatic every time I listen to them. And if you're a fan of their music, I think you'll understand the fact that I Ur A Contra gives you so much feels and how fitting it is to listen to them while driving by somewhere with trees and the sun almost setting and the grass so green OKAY. You see, there's always a Vampire Weekend song for every situation. I guarantee you that.

And yes, YES, YES, my dad said he'd try to get me their new album for my birthday and I can't help but scream and yell and sing and GOD BLESS THAT MAN. And I think it's time for you to screencap this portion because in case my dad forgets huehuehuhe. He just told me yesterday and I'm so stoked woooo. (Anyway, Contra is still in 800 bucks and Fully Booked won't give it a discount and........okay.)

CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW PRETTY THIS PICTURE IS AND IT'S SO CLEAR AND HIGH QUALITY????????

I'm sorry if I can't stop talking about them it's just that..... never mind. I'm really looking forward to seeing them soon (*coughs* Wanderland 2014 please *coughs). (I don't know if I want to see them this year I mean, hell yeah I'd love to see them anytime of the year but then again, we have to consider the fact that I'm only sixteen, I don't have enough money and I have a lot going on in my life like japanese food and studying.)

BAHAHAHAHAA I'M SORRY I JUST HAD TO OH MY GOD

Long story short, I love Vampire Weekend and their new album, despite the fact that I only heard three tracks.

I love Vampire Weekend good bye.

The enormity

I went to ATC all by myself (again) because I'm so bored and I feel like screaming. Joke. Well the day was spent well because I basically stayed in Powerbooks the whole day reading a book. It was Everyday by David Levithan. I know I'm a little too late to catch up on this novel but the novel was pretty good. Not that thrilling, exciting and "meaningful" like other books by the same author but I liked it. (This is just an opinion please don't send me death threats, thank you.)

I finished the book in approximately 8 hours. Or so. ~No regrets just love~ Anyway, my stay in the said bookstore was very interesting. I just realized that sitting in one corner can give you a free story from strangers. Eavesdropping is bad but I have ears and that can't be avoided because ~I have ears~.

There was this guy talking to the lady from UNICEF (they're having this campaign in Powerbooks, inviting people to help) and he said he lives in Singapore and his voice sounds handsome and I had the feeling that he was rich. And then there were these two people walking around the store. I noticed the girl first because I was sitting on the floor and when I looked up the first thing I saw were....................her legs and her ridiculous high heels. Her toes look so scary, it looked like she pushed it too hard inside her pumps??? And they were speaking in loud voices and their English is so bad I want to cry. You tried. And then there's this old lady who looked me in the eye and smiled at me. Then I saw someone from school and I know him so I formed a curtain using my hair because I don't want him to see me and I don't want to say hi.

Then my dad arrived and he talked to the people from UNICEF. And then we had Pepper Lunch for dinner. HEHEHEHEE

Anyway, while we were about to to leave I saw Fully Booked and it was beautiful huhu. So many lights it looked like it was open to the public. I don't know about you but Fully Booked is my favorite place in Manila ehehe. I was actually thinking about spending my birthday here, if it's possible. I'm not even kidding.

I hope this place opens soon because if not I am going to punch a tree. AND if this place hasn't opened yet on my birthday I will call my fairy and mermaid army to start a revolution.

~Subic~

My family went to Subic last Saturday, May 25th, 2013. I was supposed to go Circuit Fest but then the stars weren't aligned for me and the odds weren't in my favor so there you go. (Let's not talk about Circuit Fest, yeah?) We arrived at around ten or eleven and then we toured around Zoobic and admired the nature and the animals, except for the smell hehe.

This reminds me so much of Australia, I don't even know.

Can I just say that this road is blessed by God and Jesus and Vishnu and Allah and Ganesh and Artemis and Zeus and every god out there because it's so beautiful I want to live here that's it!!!!

 THIS IS IT, THE ALPACALYPSE
LORD DAN HOWELL THIS PLACE IS MADE FOR YOU

I mentioned it a million times already but I love trees and the fact that they are so tall and they provide shelter for birds and they also provide shade when the sun is being mean to us and won't give us a break. I love trees. I LOVE TREES.

And then we went to this crocodile farm and watched them lie around the green water (which looks gross as the pits of hell). They are pretty nice and interesting creatures once you actually give them a closer look... until someone gave them meat for snack and they all ran forward and they looked like  the hounds from the Underworld owned by Hades. ~The more you know~ ~*CRIKEY*~

The water is so green and murky and dirty I think I cringed for 76 years.

We ended the day and went straight to this very old American hotel/inn/apartelle/or whatever they call it because I don't know how to call it, sorry. The building itself looked like a battlefield-building from Call of Duty because it's so old and I don't even know why my cousin won't stop calling it "Call of Duty place". But yes it's Call of Duty place. And it's kind of creepy heeeeee what's a vacation without the jeepers creepers, right? And then we took ~a little dip in the pool~ and I think I bruised my thigh in the slides because of my cousin. God bless him.

We watched Life of Pi on my laptop and talked about Piscine Molitar and his weird uncle and Richard Parker. I'm hoping you read that in Indian accent because if you didn't, you're doing it wrong and you need to reevaluate your life thanks.

WE WENT TO OCEAN ADVENTURE TH NEXT DAY AND OKAY I'M SCREAMING BECAUSE I LOVE SEA CREATURES AND THE WONDERS OF THE OCEAN AND I MISS THE SEA. This is actually my second time around Ocean Adventure but it's still fun because like I said, I love the sea hihihi.

We went into this aquarium and I can't help but fangirl and squeal of happiness because I am being surrounded by sea creatures and I feel so happy because my inner mermaid is singing.

I saw this group of jellyfish hanging around in one tight huddle. I think they saw Kim Kardashian and her baby bump down there.

This is a shark. He's so fast I can't even take a decent picture of him. BUT IT'S A SHARK AHH LOOK.
 And this is a stingray.

Sea lion swimming around ugh so cute.
(We also watched the dolphin show but I have no pictures because I was enjoying even though it was drizzling and there were umbrellas blocking 25% of my view.)

I don't have a decent picture of the show but here you go. Admire them in their silhouettes~

The day ended pretty well but we didn't get a chance to go to the beach because it started raining and my mermaid self was beyond sad.

"...borne back ceaselessly into the past."

You haven't seen The Great Gatsby yet? Well you have to because we saw it last night and God, was I satisfied?! The movie was great because 1) it was in perfect accordance to the book; 2) it's very cinematic (emphasis on the word "very") and; 3) "feel-inducing" feelings, if you know what I mean. I've read the book already and I was very happy about the outcome of the movie.

Anyway, before I start spoiling you, Carey Mulligan was very good and she portrayed Daisy Buchanan's role very well. You wouldn't think that she's an actress and all but instead, you'd look at her and be like, "oh so that's Daisy Buchanan". She was very elegant and ahhhh she's so beautiful can I have her face? And Leonardo DiCaprio did a good job on the accent especially the "old sport" thing, haha. And really, I don't understand why this man hasn't received any Oscars? (And okay I admit, I see and hear Jack Dawson somewhere and I don't know it's just that it stays there. DO YOU GET ME.)

But okay: the story revolves around Nick Carraway and how he met this mysterious man who lived next door to him. At first he was suspicious of this man's whereabout because he has never seen his face and only a small number of people actually know him by his face. And then he gets invited by this man--later on identified as Gatsby--at his house. Hundreds and hundreds of people come to his house every weekend to enjoy big, lavish parties but here's the catch: they come uninvited. Nick Carraway was one of the few guests who had actually been invited. Turns out that he's doing all these parties for a girl AND THEN IS STOPS THERE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO SEE THE MOVIE GOOD BYE.

Anyway here's the trailer:

ALSO, the soundtrack was great! Kind of modern if you ask me but I liked it very much because Beyoncé, Florence + The Machine, Lana Del Rey and The XX were part of the track listing and I am beyond happy because the songs were A+.

It's just that this movie gave me so much feels just as the book did heeeeeeee. Gatsby is a very rich man who spends his riches ~wisely~ but he himself is never wise when it comes to  dealing with the past because he is a man of feelings and doesn't care about the circumstances and the consequences of his doings and all that jazz. BUT despite his stupid moves he's very sweet and loving and ahh I need a Gatsby in my life (kind of identical to what I felt when I was hoping to find myself a Holden Caulfield). You have to see this movie because if you don't I will get mad and never talk to you again JOKE.

I give this movie an 11/10 rating because I CAN. I want to see it again and again and again and forever and ever amen to the moon and back yes.

And HAHAHA is this a movie review because I have no idea what I'm talking about and I'm not really sure if I make any sense but WHATEVS.

Okay bye.

Two Reflections into One

I've been blabbing about this song for weeks now and I think you guys should listen to this song because.... I don't know. It's just that this song is so sweet and catchy and it tells a lot about the life of a man in love (I ran out of words to say but, whatever). Well Justin mentioned it once in an interview: this song is inspired by his grandparents, Sadie and William (did I get that right?) and their 60-year marriage. After William's death, Sadie gave Justin their wedding ring as a gift. And now I guess this song also represents Justin's hopes of being with his wife for 60 years or longer.

MY POINT IS, this song is so sweet and and all lovey-dovey and..........SO SWEET...........AND ACCURATE.

ANYWAY, Jessica Biel is a very lucky woman. Justin Timberlake is a very good artist and I admire him very much and I love him and ahh I love his new album.

I just really love this song good bye people I am gone.

Golden

"The Golden Half is a half frame 35mm camera. Half frame means that when you put a roll of 36 exposure into the Golden Half, you’ll actually get 72 pictures! You can be quite carefree when shooting with it, but you’ll still be shooting on film. Double fun in every way!
Diptych. When you film is developed and printed, you’ll see two half frame images on each of your full-frame prints. This gives you lots of new possibilities, as sometimes two photos fit better together than they did apart. You can start telling micro stories in two frames and you will be thrilled to find connections — unexpected, or perhaps planned between your shots.
The Golden Half is tiny enough to fit into most pockets, and it will never weigh down a small bag. It is easy to carry around that you will never again miss an opportunity to take a great picture.
It might be a tiny, rubber-coated plastic camera, but the Golden Half has a hotshoe on it, which allows you to attach any flash. This turns the Golden Half into a carry-anywhere, shoot-anytime, don’t-worry-about-your-exposures (little) monster.
SPECS: Two apertures: f/11 for sunny skies or when using flash; f/8.5 for cloudier times; 35mm format plastic camera; Takes half-frame shots; Lens: 22mm, F8; Shutter: 1/100;  Zoom: 8, 11; Focus: 1.5~; Film wind-on: manual; Flash: none (hot shoe); Film: 35mm; Size: 31.3 x 2.8 x 3.5 inches; Weight: 91g.
PACKAGE INCLUDES: Strap, Lens cap, Manual."

PolaroidPH is hosting a GIVEAWAY! And I want to win. Haha, of course, who doesn't want to win this baby? Exactly. I've been researching and researching for days and reading things about this camera. It looks so pretty and handy and very cute! I really want to win this one because I've been itching to have a film camera (but since I have no money, I'll have to stick with giveaways.)

Look at the quality of the photos huhuhu, so pretty and kitschy.

(Photos not mine. Credits to the rightful owners!)

I DEFINITELY need to win this one. I've been earning 20 entries for 3 days now and I hope my effort goes nowhere because if it does I will be so. Disappointed. Ugh. Please let me win this one.

AAAHHH

SO THIS JUST HAPPENED AND I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL. Well the first time I knew I was on twitter and everyone was like "okay time to save for August" and I was like, okay, what's going on? And I swear to God I felt something weird and then boom I saw this on facebook and screamed for 75 years. I don't really know how to explain what happened next but I was crying--like legit crying and sobbing and heaving. Okay judge me but I've been waiting for this to happen and I can't believe that's it's finally going to happen in three months. Three months might be a long time for others but seriously, I think I'm running out of time. Three months is an awfully short time because hello what happened to 2013, we're almost halfway done with this year and I'm just here???

Okay so enough of this now. I would like to thank that 11:11 wish the other night before the announcement. I wished for "fall out boy". I wasn't even wishing for something like "fall out boy live Manila!" just plain "fall out boy" and aaaaaahh this happened. Okay I probably don't make any sense at all but I'm really happy! After 4879327493 years of waiting they're back huhu. See you all there!

Anyway, Vampire Weekend has a new album! Modern Vampires of the City was released last May 6th, 2013, Monday. It is said that the "record's main themes are love and mortality and the lyrics contain darker literary allusions."

Like I said in one of my previous blog posts, I love Vampire Weekend. I can't wait to have this on my iPod and listen to it 25/8.

It's a great year for music, yeah?

My Own Narnia

Okay so you know that feeling you get when you're on youtube and then you come across this very great, glorious song? Well I get that a lot. Earlier this day I was watching some video about something (I forgot wow), and then I clicked and clicked and clicked and voila I am in the good part of youtube. Then I saw a comment, saying that it's the "Narnia of Youtube". It's true, though! Everything about it is good huhu. If you still don't know what I'm talking about then here you go.

I love this band so much! Please give them a listen.... The first time I heard a song of theirs was when I was watching MTV and at first I didn't like them but then the second time I gave them a good listen and ahhh I love them very much. I regret nothing.

I only have one song by them but then again, youtube made me change my mind.

The only thing missing is a good road trip to the beach and some good friends. I'm so bored and I resemble a rotting vegetable because of the weather and the boredom and the lack of activities. I've been studying a lot lately but I am not having fun. Well I do have some fun because I've been listening to a lot of good music lately but it's not enough UGH. Please take me away from here.

Anyway I would like to say hi to my good friend, Julia. This blog post is for you. I miss you, nigga! I'll send you more music in the next future ehehe.

(Also, they have zero dislikes!!!!)

Rollercoasters and all that Jazzzzzzzzz

I discovered that youtube has been my habitat for the past few days. I don't how I got here but I think God is trying to tell me something and that is... "You have to try these before you die."

Well long story short, I searched for "Six Flags, NJ" and then this ride called Kingda Ka appeared and wow, it's the world's tallest. Watching this POV video made scream and laugh and frown at the same time because I have this thing for rollercoasters and rides. I just love amusement parks so much I think living there would be ideal for me, yes.

Anyway, here are some of the best amusement park rides that I loved the most because it made me go fkjhksjhashhjsd (or if there's another way to say it, but I can't because I don't know how to describe it.)

I've been itching to go to Disneyland since I was kid because everything about that place is fun and exciting and tear-inducing. Well EVERY SINGLE KID wants to be there, including you, I know. Watching the Disney Parade (or ~Mickey's Soundsational Parade~) is one of my dreams huhu. I'm never too old to wish for a trip to Disneyland there's nothing wrong with me huhu.

I hope you had the time of your life watching these videos, because I did. Too bad I live in the Philippines and the closest thing to Six Flags is Enchanted Kingdom (which is not bad, to be honest. But of course amusement parks in other countries are still The BOMB.) I'd kill to be in that place. Sigh, the pains of living in the Philippines.

P.S.: Watch the videos in HD!!!

PETITION FOR MY DAD TO TAKE ME TO HONGKONG DISNEYLAND AND UNIVERSAL STUDIOS - SINGAPORE HAHAHAHAHA THANK YOU.
