She killed it with kisses

Rainy season began when May was slowly hiding and giving way for June and sadly, school has officially started and I know some of us still has that summer vibe going on in our systems and really, I can't blame you because it feels as if we ran out of time and ideas on what we should've done. I never even got the chance to go the beach and have a proper ~summer vibe~. And then I came across this really nice mix on 8tracks and I danced around the house because it sounds so good and chill and "summery". Yes, summer is over but you can always listen to this mix and forget about the stress and take a break hehehe. The first song is one of my favorites and it always puts me on a good mood (it's Passion Pit's Little Secrets and whoops sorry for the spoiler).

And this is another mix I found and it will surely out you on a good mood. The Naked & Famous, The Kooks, MGMT and Two Door Cinema Club. Yes, I think you're interested now in giving this mix a listen because of those four bands I mentioned. And the best part is this is a ninety-track mix. Enjoy.

The first time I saw this video, I had goosebumps all over (and okay, maybe I cried a little) because I don't know how someone can do something like this. This is from the Glastonbury Festival, 2010. Man, how I wish I was there. This song is one of my favorites and if I were to die the next day, this will be one of the songs I would love to hear before I pass. There are times when I get sad and very hormonal and then boom, I open my computer and search this on youtube. This version of the song is one of the reasons why I'm still breathing (naks). And look at the crowd!!! So glorious. It's like the crowd is one with Florence and I think it's the best part of a concert, when you're connected with the performer and everything is perfect and nothing hurts huhu. It's like heaven is welcoming you with this angel hehehe. I would love to see Florence + The Machine live. Because I have to be there when she performs this song and it will be the best moment of my life.

I don't like being very articulate when it comes to writing down my feelings but when it comes to songs, you can't stop me HAHAHA. Just listen to these songs and you will be ~happy and gay~ (◕ヮ◕)*:・゚ *:・゚

Vast Colors

In which I write about my weakness for illustrations and their wonderful..... wonders. It's been a while since I wrote something about ~*art*~ and I'm glad I've finally found the time to do something productive other than drowning myself in stacks of schoolwork (I am clearly exaggerating but then it's called "schoolwork" and anything school-related is stressing and tear-inducing especially if you're a graduating student). Anyway, I have found yet another incredible place full of illustrations. I don't know why I never really appreciated this artist back then I mean for hell's sake, I've been following this person on tumblr since day one--literally, no kidding. I have no idea how I stumbled upon his blog, I mean I liked his drawings so yeah click here, "I don't know what I'm doing who is this", and then I followed him.

And then I found out that he's a Filipino and then I had feels for a moment because it's not everyday you find an illustrator who creates such vast strings of color and yadda yadda yadda. robcham is a great comics artist and I'm not just saying, I am telling. I'd love to have his life as an illustrator but I don't think I'm not fit for the job because I'm afraid I might run out of ideas and my boss will get mad and fire me and boom~ no job, no future, no joy.

Anyway, take a good look at his illustrations and engulf yourself in the world of colors~

I personally like this one because I love Disney-Pixar movies. Then again, who doesn't?

I believe he made this one for Erwan Heussaff's food blog, thefatkidinside

And he also does promotional posters for events! They're all so cool and colorful and so alive I think my system's going to release glitters and rainbows.

I saw Manix Abrera's name and I think I'm about to cry because he's one of my favorites along with Pol Medina huhu. It's just that it's so ~magical~ whenever you see/read something about your favorite people being friends with your other favorites YAY.

You should really start following Rob Cham on tumblr because I have a strong feeling that if you don't, your dashboard will die of boredom and dullness.

I really want to be like him when I grow up but I'm quite aware of the fact that sitting here in front of my laptop writing things about great people will be the only achievement I'll earn in the future. I can't wait.

Sixteen

They say your life doesn't really start until you turn sixteen. WRONG ANSWER YOU LITTLE FRICKS, my life started when I came out of my mom. So if you're saying that the last fifteen years of my life isn't really a "life", then your opinion is wrong. I can definitely say that I lived every minute of those fifteen years, including the times when I used to hate myself for not doing these stupid yet glorious things. I turned sixteen last Monday, June 10th, and I guess it was grand??? Well not "grand" grand, but it was grand, like Augustus Waters grand. Except for the part where we wasted our time in PNB to pay for my UPCAT and the part where we have to walk 45689638465834 miles to eat lunch. We weren't able to eat lunch because Vikings is a big bastard. Joke. But we ate dinner so yes.

Buffet in Vikings HEHEHEHE.

I think I died a little inside.

My sixteenth birthday wasn't that special but I was... happy. Because I was with my dad.

Love Will Tear Us Apart

"Bono met his wife in high school," Park says.
"So did Jerry Lee Lewis," Eleanor answers.
"I’m not kidding," he says.
"You should be," she says, "we’re sixteen."
"What about Romeo and Juliet?"
"Shallow, confused, then dead."
''I love you," Park says.
"Wherefore art thou," Eleanor answers.
"I’m not kidding," he says.
"You should be."

Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park is one of the reasons why I think I'm gonna die alone, even though my music taste is exceptional. Kidding. Judging from the book cover, you can say that this novel focuses on the point of view of two teenagers exploring the music scene. And the fact that the story is set on the August of 1986 makes it all better and original, I don't know. Two young adults find each other weird and interesting enough to sit next to each other in the school bus. The other one falls in love with the ~other one~ and I guess you could say it's one hell of a story blah blah blah.

OH AND PARK IS KOREAN which makes everything different and cute at the same time, although I don't really know how to explain it. There is no "Why the hell is Park Korean?" thing going on because that's just the way it is, Park is Korean. And can I just say that the root of all things between Eleanor & Park were comics and music and this glorious walkman!!! And the number of times Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart appeared was totally exceptional, I don't know why.

(photo not mine)

I don't know about you but the perfect Park Sheridan for me is this guy!!! I don't know why but I guess it's because I've seen him somewhere and the moment I read that Park was Korean his face suddenly popped out of nowhere and okay, JUST PERFECT. I forgot his name but oh well. He is Park Sheridan because 1) his hair; 2) his eyes; 3) HIS EVERYTHING.

Anyway this book gave me so much feels (I'm not even done reading yet!) and I think you should read this. I've been itching to read this since April and it finally happened so praise Jesus.

ME WHILE READING THE BOOK NO SHAME

I can't wait to finish this book and tell you what I think about it.

Fully Booked ATC

Fully Booked ATC is finally open and I am beyond happy! It opened last June 7th, 2013 and I was one of the first few people to visit the newly-opened bookstore and it felt so glorious because HEY FULLY BOOKED IS FINALLY OPEN GOD BLESS. Too bad people weren't allowed to take pictures. Luckily, I found a perfect reading spot behind this post near the aircon hehehe.

These were the books I found interesting and God, that place is like my "to-read" library in goodreads, I want to cry. Seriously, all the works of goodreads authors are stored in every shelf, especially the YA section!!! It's like the gates of heaven. To make a long story short, you should really pay this place a visit if you don't want to miss out.

I was supposed to read this but then I already started on Eleanor & Park. Maybe next time. Hope I could own a physical copy, though!

FINALLY. VICTORY CRY. I can't seem to find a .pdf file of this baby and then I found this lying around in a table and then bam, I'm already halfway through the book.

I then found these kiddy books. I think I'm this close to calling myself a spy because I found Wally in less than a minute. Like thirty seconds per page HAHAHA I have great eyesight (except no not really). And this pop-up book! Too bad it's too expensive, it's so cute and artsy and it's LONDON FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. It has this genius feature wherein you can see drawings and facts behind the pop-ups. It costs 800 pesos, I think my heart skipped a beat.

(I also read this journal about Kurt Cobain and it has a lot of things inside like attached concert tickets, a mask, free DVD, a rip-off of Kurt Cobain's journal, stickers, the works. I really love it but then again let us remember that I am broke and I have no other choice but to put it back in its shelf.)
