Save The Day

Discovering something new on the internet is one of my favorites. I stumbled upon this very cool website. ThisIsColossal is an art-related blog that allows artists to showcase their creations and share them for the world to see. I don't even know how I got here but from what I remember, I was on Tumblr and I searched the tag "illustrations". And then voila, after a few clicks of desperation, I was graced by the lovely presence of these wonders.

Bec Winnel is a self-taught artist from  Kiewa Valley, Victoria, Australia. She creates feminine portraits that are "accompanied by nature and nostalgia". Her works are mostly colored pencils complimented by mixed mediums such as pastels and paint washes.

I don't know about you but, her drawings are great. I can never do something like this no matter how hard I try. I don't know how she mixes everything up! Just look at it, how can someone be so delicate in shading every angle without ruining the whole picture? They all look so real! And look at their eyes. They're all human-like in a way and I guess that's what makes the portraits look so detailed and piercing. I don't know how she does it.

One word: patience. Madrid-based illustrator Gabriel Moreno made this illustrations accompanied by endless bands of lines. Come to think of it, he was determined. Because really, it's hard to create something like this especially when you're starting up with thin, thin lines. It looks like hair, yes. But in every portrait comes new shapes and angles that form new silhouettes of pictures.

This portrait reminds me of Alicia Keys' song Girl On Fire. Also Katniss.

Swedish artist Mattias Adolfsson is another patient artist. God, look at them. They're very full. The airplane pilots find themselves stumbling upon thousands and thousands of buttons, all thanks to the artist. These comic-esque creations are very well appreciated by our generation since you can see graphic art everywhere. Every detail is well taken care of by the artist's hand.

Also, this made me emotional because I miss doodling awwwwwww.

And lastly! My favorite of all!!! I found her and I was never the same (naks). Pat Perry is the bomb. These are my kind of drawings, I don't know why. I fangirled the moment I saw her drawings and I instantly thought about using these drawings as an inspiration for my next drawings. I love how she keeps it the way she is. I don't know what I'm talking about but I think you know what I mean. Or at least I do. But whatever that comes into mind, I love her and she's now my favorite. She's very original and her works are indeed picturesque and quaint.

I am very in love with Pat Perry. Click here to see more!

The Bucket List

We saw Breakfast at Tiffany's and Pretty In Pink yesterday! It was great because my dad and I went to Nuvali for the Night Sky event. I was very happy because I got to experience this kind of thing. I used to dream about going to a drive-in movie. Any movie will do. Especially horror/gory movies hihihi. Anyway I was pretty much happy the whole time we were there. I never expected to be in a drive-in movie aww. It's actually in my bucket list which means a lot to me because I got to fulfill something unexpected like this. The weather was very nice and there were food booths. I swear I had so many feels the whole time.

Plus the view looks great. I think you guys already know that I'm this sucker for sun rays and clouds and the way the sun glints through the leaves of a tree and all that. I feel so giddy.  And because two of my favorite movies of all time were included in the movie line-up. I've seen Breakfast at Tiffany's before but I definitely enjoyed seeing it again on the big screen. Also Pretty In Pink! God, I still remember the first time I saw it. And up until now, I am still rooting for Duckie no matter how cute and adorable Blane looks like. I am just saying.

And yes, I almost wished for The Breakfast Club to be shown. Who wouldn't?

Look at the view!!! If you're a big fan of scenes like this I think you'll understand. I can't help but smile and feel blessed to see this hehehe.

 Look at the clouds aaaahhhhh.

They were selling these, too! Cheap finds are the best.

And then yay! Pretty In Pink has already started and the crowd was practically swooning over Blane and Andie's chemistry. I, too, was swooning. Over Duckie. I ship Duckie with Andie, I'm so sorry.

That's how my Saturday night went. I had a lot of fun, really. Even though I didn't go to Sleeping With Sirens' and Pierce The Veil's show last night, I still think this is one of the best Saturdays I had. I would like to thank my dad for bringing me here. Finally, another thing scratched off on my Bucket List.  Hoping for another drive-in movie in the next future!

I See La Vie En Rose

I saw these very pretty typographies last week by Gokun Guneyham (I can't find on Google, I don't know why). I was just thinking about taking photos and putting some words on it but I didn't think of it that much. I lacked inspiration, imagination and most importantly, motivation. And then I saw this and bam, I am ready to take photography on a different level (naks).

What I loved about these photos is that they looked the same as the country would if you've ever been there. Like Barcelona, Belgium and Valencia. They all have different auras and shades. They look "creamy" in a different way. I hope you get me.

I just really loved the sight of it and I can't help but get giddy inside. Louis Armstrong's La Vie En Rose starts playing on my mind whenever I see these photos.
