Summer 2013

What's a teenager's blog without a post about summer? Haha, joking. Anyway, it's already summer! I've had a lot in my mind when classes were still going on. I mean I had a lot of plans and I actually made a list of what I'm planning to do this summer (I lost it somewhere in the classroom, though). Like playing the piano (I kind of stopped), read more and more books (I read 4 books last January and I am hungry for MORE), letting my ~letting my artistic skills soar through the skies~ and lots and lots of working out. Seriously, I don't know how to manage it all in just a matter of three months but I think I can handle it. Who am I kidding? It's summer! I can do anything. (Feeling wild and free HAHAHA).

One of the things I'm looking forward to are going out and discovering new things. I've been dying to visit The Collective in Makati for ages now and I know nothing about that place. I guess that's what makes it so "new" to me. I heard that it's a very good and ideal place for art, music and pop-culture lovers. I've never been to that place and ugh, the feelings I get whenever I think about visiting the place!

Heck, I even searched Google Maps for directions from Rockwell. (If you're asking why, well my dad and I always hang around Rockwell. And no, we don't live there. We are not rich people. We are peasants, only a bit richer hahaha, joke.)

One word: AAAAHHHH. You see? THIS is the reason why The Collective is a blessed place.  I was smitten when I saw this because it's not everyday you find a compound surrounded by  these doodles. It feels like home aww. How I wish I could create something like that in real life~

Also this one AAAAHHH!!!! I literally rolled on the floor and scrunched up my face when I saw this. It looks so alive and fresh from the creator's mind huhuhu so beautiful. I really can't wait to see it in person and cry in awe while I dramatically touch the wall~~

If you're a big fan of vintage things like vinyls and old books and the smell of it, then Cubao Expo--or Cubao X for some--is the place for you. From fifty-peso vinyls, to great bargains of books and toys, Cubao X is home to some of the greatest finds in Manila. Abandoned toys, books, antique materials can be found in this place. (Look, I did a research in Google Maps for directions, too!) I may or may not have heard my relatives who live in the North talk about Cubao X and the stores. Well I hope they bring me there hehe.

I know inside every on of us is a very nostalgic human being who wants to engulf himself in the past. UVLA is always there to cater your needs if you're feeling old and... indie hehehhe.

Another set of AAAHHHs for this store. Too bad I forgot the name of this shop but I'm pretty sure they sell slippers/footwear. Look at that lovely art piece, I could just tear up while staring at it huhu.

Heima also has a branch in Cubao X! Heima is a furniture store, selling modern-style things. They're known for being cute and Victorian-ish, with most of their products being all pastel-colored. I'm looking forward to visiting this place hehe.

Aside from going to the mall, of course I want to my summer to be filled with new and foreign discoveries. I don't want it to be dull and boring. This is why this post was produced. I was supposed to attend this Art Workshop in Ayala Museum but then we backed out because it was very expensive and the means of transportation is not very practical. Manix Abrera a.k.a. the creator of Kikomachine Komix would be the workshop master and I can't help but feel bad about it because I'm a big fan of his work. Sigh.

But it won't stop me from doing more art because it's one of my "big" plans this summer hehe.

Also:

I downloaded their film! It was amazing and I literally cried while watching it because IT WAS GREAT. Especially when they played Girls Like You & Young Blood. I can't help my feelings huhu.

Also this! The lineup is itself screams awesome. I never thought they'd bring these bands here in Manila. The Temper Trap and Avalanche City? YES! Also Up Dharma Down ahh! Although I'm not really sure if I should go because of the ticket price. I think I just heard my heart shatter into a million pieces.

Fall Out Boy released their new album's cover art! I'm so excited to hear their new record. This band has a lot in store for us fans, I can tell. Can't wait for April 15!

It's summer already, so why don't you enjoy a sight of beautiful daisies dancing in the wind under the sun's rays.

Also fries.
