why i love december

Well... used to. I used to treat December as the most special month in all twelve of them. But growing up made me feel like it's just another month. I've felt this ever since I turned 14. I'm 18 now and I swear I'm not lying when I say I'm trying to be festive even though it's not really the right time for me, due to the unpleasant surprises that came my way. But anyway, I'm proud to say that it's been lovely, the past few weeks. I've been planning and planning about the future--my future--and it's exciting to imagine the next two years: having a job and earning my own money and graduating! I can't wait to graduate. So far, the following kept me grounded for two weeks now:
  • Applying for a part-time job at Starbucks for next year (This is quite shaky at the moment but I'm very sure and determined about this because there's literally no turning back. I've made up my mind and I really need to earn my own money and be slightly independent.)
  • ...Getting excited over the money I will certainly earn for next year, and spending it on a film camera or two...
  • Listing all the movies I've seen and have yet to see. This is a fun yet challenging quest for the holidays, because I have this certain fear of dying without having seen all the best movies there are. I'm so paranoid about this at night, that I wake up at 3 or 4am and mentally remind myself to download this and that, and to check all the film blogs on my bookmark page. I'm weird but I'm very happy :( Because film keeps me grounded :(
  • Reading Murakami as much as I can
  • Exploring all the music I need to explore
  • Brainstorming about an art project I want to share (film related of course)
  • All the shows with bands I'm going to with my friends!!!
This doesn't really justify the fact that I need to vent out my feelings for the holidays, because this is an explanatory post about why I loved the holidays, then felt indifferent for it, then came to the decision that I should love it again. These playlists wouldn't probably elicit any holiday musing for you, but these have been my national anthems for two months now. I hope you enjoy.

Here's the real list of reasons why the holidays make me feel and remember everything:
  • The Christmas songs are always lovely. You can literally jam to them any time of the year. March, April, June. It's July and you hear Christmas songs and suddenly you start counting down the days 'til Christmas. I for one am a Christmas song enthusiast (I think everyone of us is) and hearing them makes me feel all smiley and forgiving (even though I shouldn't be. Joke lang).
  • The weather is always lovely. This year's weather is extra cold, and all my sweaters are thanking me for the extra usage.
  • Gifts and the strict implementation of TREAT YOSELF. I recently just spent a lot on make-up, clothes, and food because I deserved it. Hell yeah, I do. Because if you say otherwise I will throw a fit and prove my point!!! I will filibuster my way to victory if I have to.
  • Back to five films a day - self-explanatory
  • Spontaneous day-outs with my family
  • THE FOOD, MGA BEH. THE FOOD. I don't need to explain this at all, because food in our family is either good or vert fucken GOOD.
  • TV Series marathons from day to night. I will never get tired of re-watching gravity falls and adventure time on my laptop, at 4am.
  • Seeing your friends from high school. I guess this should be on top of my list because being with them gives me such a breeze. They're a breath of fresh air. Literally a break from all the bullshit college gave me.
  • MATCHA BLOW POPS. I rest my case.
  • Basically being home for the holidays, not bothered by everything. And having the life you want to live, despite having an expiration date.
This year started out great for me, not knowing that it would end up being shitty. But it still brought me a lot of blessings along the way. I guess I should still be thankful because what is a life of heaven without hell, anyways? (wow gumaganern). 2015 has been an eye-opener of all sorts, and for that I am thankful. I still have myself, my matcha blow pops and my real friends. I AM STILL HASHTAG BLESSED.

So tell me how you feel about the holidays, by commenting your blog link below! Let's all talk about 2015 and how it gave you everything you need to learn about life, and public transport (kasi grabe ang traffic this year, pang pinoy pride pUNYETA).

why not try it all?

I honestly feel bad for not having decent posts from 2014 to look back on, so I'll try to make this one worth reading (although my subconscious tells me only two or three people actually read my blog and that includes me).

I only had seventeen posts from 2014 and it's such a small number compared to the actual adventures I had, the books I read, the movies I've seen, the new music I discovered, and the friends I made. Anyway, just like any other new year's resolution list, I keep telling myself to do these more:

  • Read: I always find myself longing for all the books I want to read and re-read. I've recently just updated my goodreads account after ignoring it for months. I don't know  if I decidedly ignored it or if I had most of my time dedicated to studying and sleeping. I plan to read a hundred books (or more) before this year ends; I want to cultivate and improve my grammar!!! I downloaded sixty (more or less) e-books on my iPad to get ready for my goal this 2015. But it gets tough because the glare of the screen is killing my eyes and I get astigmatism attacks every now and then!!! So yes, another plan of mine is to save more money for books (and a new bookshelf).

  • Write: I have friends who are such great writers and I can't help but feel like a stranger whenever I read their writings, formal or not. I'm such a sucker for people who could write very well; it inspires me to do better and to write more. I've been meaning to write a lot about the things around me, but I can't find the drive--and I hate myself for thinking that I have to find the drive ("That is such bullshit!") to be able to write. I learned that if you really have the roaring hunger to write, you will write amidst everything, be it bad or very bad. Reading reviews on goodreads has been a hobby of mine for so long and reading other people's book reviews give me such hope and the motivation to write more like them. I'm a journalism student and I still find myself crawling in the dark whenever I try to write something satirical and poetic; it's kind of embarrassing. So here's to a year of trying (and succeeding, I hope).

  • Take more pictures: I've always been a big fan of photographs and as a thirteen-year-old girl, I dreamed of having my own camera. I had two digital cameras before I landed myself in a DSLR (thanks to my mother). This year, I'll try to bring my camera everyday and take photos of everything and everyone. Then maybe formulate a story from every picture I took. That's a very interesting thing to do, since I like forming stories in my head; from the people I see on the bus on my way to school, the buildings, the roads, everything. Also, my goal for this year is to print my own photographs! (Another reason for me to save more).

  • Do more art: Summer 2014 has been the longest and most productive summer for me, despite the lack of adventures offered by the outside world. I fell in love with watercolor and went back to sketching. School stopped me from creating more, but I have been mapping out some plans to improve my time management!!! My best friend and I have had plans of selling stickers for so long now, you don't even know. I decided that painting the designs myself would be much cooler because watercolored pictures look really pretty. But I somehow failed because I have been uninspired lately, and I hate copying other people's style, lol. SO, YES FOR ART BECAUSE ART MAKES ME HAPPY.

I have more plans for this 2015 but no one really cares OMG LET'S BE HONEST. But for this year, I plan to practice empathy more often, listen to what everyone has to say, and do everything I can to be happy (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ

I've been obsessing over this song for a week now! I chose the underwater tea party scene from the movie Somewhere (2010) because I loved how I was watching the movie and thought about sitting down, doing nothing and being happy. Also because I think the song speaks so much about *:・゚ *:・゚life *:・゚ *:・゚

Happy New Year!!!

SUB-PAR

Have you ever come across a band that you wanted to waste your time (and maybe the tears) on? I've had enough trouble with some of the bands I got myself into; they drained me. I still love them with all my heart but there's just an insurmountable amount of things that I can't ignore! Not that I got tired of them, it just feels liberating to not feel like I'm missing out on such a hype whenever they do something new, like release new songs, world tour updates etc., etc., etc. ((I STILL LOVE FALL OUT BOY THOUGH MY HEART IS STILL WITH THEM I AM STILL #FAITHFUL))

I guess what I'm trying to say is my personality went out, had a little walk, and went inside a new genre, to do a little exploring... lol. Not that I have been stuck in one genre in forever, but I thought about having new and diverse perspectives! It's fun, actually, to get myself into ~such great heights~ !!!

I've read a lot about The Strokes since I was in high school but I never really paid them the attention they deserved (which makes me feel sorry for myself). I was such a melodramatic bitch back then, I don't know how I had the guts to ignore them because clearly, they could've contributed to those nights I couldn't endure because I can't find the right song. Also, from what I've read from their interviews, I could've been more insightful and articulate as them, DAMN.

All thanks to my very good friend Fiel, I finally (FINALLY) gave them a chance. Being an avid reader of Fiel's blog, I've had external knowledge about this band since... maybe when she started talking about them most of the time on twitter, lol. (Thanks again, Fiel.) I started listening to them on a ~religious level~, as I'd like to describe it, weeks ago and I'd like to congratulate myself for doing so. Fiel made me watch this documentary about their European tour, In Transit, and I'm so grateful because it made me like them more, huhu. My favorite album would be Room on Fire, because most of my favorite songs are from that album!!! Those songs speak to me so much it's weird, since I've only started listening to them weeks ago.

Anyway, here are some shitty screenshots (I watched it on my iPad because my laptop had no charger; I couldn't wait the next morning to borrow the charger from my cousin). (I can download a clearer version, anyway, and watch it every time I feel like it HEH.)

This part seemed important to me because it's like a greeting from a new dimension of interest (◕ヮ◕)*:・゚ *:・゚

Julian, ~interviewed~ by Ryan Gentles. Ryan was asking him how he feels about the tour in  Europe

I LAUGHED WAY TOO HARD AT THIS PART, I DON'T KNOW WHY?

Also this part seemed very important. A smile slowly formed on my face because I thought about how those small-town bands start very small in their garage: limited number of photocopied fliers about their upcoming gig, cheap beer, the horror that the neighbors might call the cops and the phone calls they have to make to get themselves a functional van to get them to a small bar outside town just so they could play in front of a few people - and that's something.

I can't stress enough how this scene made me think a lot about being in a band oh, my god. Look at them pushing!!! Doesn't that make you ambitious about the things you dream of at night ╭╮

In which I freaked out because I didn't know The Moldy Peaches were touring with them! Kimya Dawson took me by surprise when I saw her face at the ferry scene whie they were on their way to Ireland! So niceeEEEE

IT WAS VERY HARD YET AMUSING TO WATCH THIS. I wish I could say the woman was joking BUT SHE WASN'T because the boys were just laughing and spewing vitriol over how shitty this is. I was very uncomfortable because I almost thought she did it on purpose to make the boys feel like they don't belong there, that they deserve the shade and the occasional sly-digging. This doesn't make any sense now because... YES.

I love how this holiday break gave me the chance to orient myself to new things!! This post (I think) signals the start of my commitment to the new world. Thank you, Ze Strokes.

Also yay, a new band to get anxious about (..)

TATLONG ORAS NA AKONG NAGPAPA-CUTE SA'YO

There are hundreds of great bands hailing from every corner of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Some are still very active, some are hiding under the dark shadows of the limelight and some chose a different path. I could talk about these bands for a day (especially Up Dharma Down, eep) but will still end up talking about this one band.

It was a big surprise when this came out two weeks (or so) ago since it has been more than a decade since they published new songs. It's like saying hi to a new friend who was away for a long time. I actually lost hope upon knowing that a lot of people got their copies on the same day it was released; and the fact that only a few copies are available per store. But god behold, my dad got his hands on this one. How he found a copy, I don't know. Thank you, Father Bernas <3

It's a big deal for me and my dad because we are such big fans of this band. Especially my dad, who has a special place in his heart for them. He'd tell me stories about his college life and the Eraserheads was probably a big part of that certain stage in his life. Also, he never failed to orient me to the bands he used to fangirl over. He even copied Kurt Cobain's clothing style back then. So I guess my punk side came from my dad? I am so cool. Lol.

Anyhoo, this is the CD with their two new songs. To be honest, I was expecting more but I loved it nevertheless. It still sounds like it came from Cutterpillow. And they are so faithful to their musical style! It changed a bit, yes, but it's a change where you'd still hear the 90's and the Magasin days. I only spent three years in the 90's but I can feel how the loyal Eraserheads fans--who've been there since the beginning--felt. Yes, especially my dad.

I used to see a lot of their pictures from their London trip earlier this year and I thought it was only because they have a show there and because duh, it's London, that's a very important place!!! ...or so I thought those were the only reasons when I saw Ely's daughter, Una, post a picture of the boys taking a walk along the Abbey Road, á la The Beatles! And there are photographers everywhere so yeah, something was up. I actually thought they'd do a reunion concert here in Manila after that (still hoping!!!) but they introduced this feature instead. Still genius, though.
Ligaya is one of my personal favorites! I'm really glad they chose this as the pillar for their comeback. and I believe Pare Ko is the lovechild of Ligaya and Kailan, haha. don't ask, just listen. I need you to agree with me after listening!

The are indeed millennial; their music traveling from generation to generation. I'm glad I'm part of  that generation who was influenced by the previous generation by their music and musings.

NOT SHY OF A SPARK

My family went to the beach last weekend. The weird thing about this trip was that we left at midday, hence the gloomy view of the sea. We arrived at sundown and the tides were very aggressive. The sun was nowhere to be found and it felt like a storm was coming. The view was perfect. So I made a mix! Youtube search them or listen to them on Spotify (Thank God for spotify) or whichever way you prefer. 8tracks was being a little prick, I'm sorry. These songs kept playing on my head while I was ~looking over the ocean~

These photos were only taken using my iPhone, hence the grainy look. But I like them a lot hehe.

We left the place the next day. I really miss Pico de Loro. :-(

Some Days

Sembreak officially starts TODAY. I never expected four months to be this short. There have been a lot of plot twists; some good, some bad. I never expected being a senior is this hard and to be completely honest with you, it's depressing. I'm always tired and sad (haha) and I've never felt such strong feelings for sleep. It's a longing feeling and it's very sad. BUT like I said, sembreak starts today and I am free to do anything I want. I kind of abandoned my blogging duties (kung meron hehe) and I feel sorry for myself because I don't know how to balance my time, not when I'm bombarded with performance tasks and deadlines. But at least I am prioritizing my responsibilities HEH.

Anyway, I think this break is carefully engineered by Jesus himself to make up for my failed attempts to have a proper vacation and to do various summer things like going to the beach and Soaking Under The Sun, Listening To Cool Tunes (I'm still bitter over not going to the beach last summer; I really wanted to.) But this time I am armed with a lot of plans and I can't wait to share it with you!!! HOORAY.

I wish I could post something worth reading right now but I guess I'm just so happy because there will be no school for nine days and I am truly blessed hihi. This also goes out to my batchmates who made it through this sem. Give it another hoopla and it will all be over. Basically senior year is about ~savoring~ the moment. It's the perfect time to just BE, despite the number of requirements bombarding our poor little backs. I hope you get it.

So here's a few songs to feed this euphoric moment of realizing that there will be no school for nine. Fricking. Days.

Listen to this song. The lyrics are good and pretty relevant to what I'm going through right now... actually, no, scratch that. It's relevant to what we're going through right now. This song makes me so happy and hopeful and I don't know. I've been dwelling too much on a lot of songs; it either makes me too sad or too ecstatic to even function. It's a good thing, I guess?

Well I hope this sembreak turns out to be one of the best. I'm really looking forward to a lot of things like hanging out with my lovely friends while listening to cool songs or maybe go somewhere far (a.k.a. Baguio WOOO). I hope you have a great sembreak ahead of you! Spend it wisely! ☆^▽^☆

Two More Weeeeeeeks

Sembreak in two weeks [YELLS FOR EVERY TIRED AND WASTED STUDENT] and I'm more than excited to do things and go places. Despite the short amount of Vacation lying ahead of me, I'm still thankful to have a week's worth of productivity in sleeping and doing things I love. And so I'm here to share you some cool tunes. I know you'll like them.

I present to you, my friends, The 1975. For months I've been seeing tweets about how good this band is and sure enough, I gave them a try AND I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM. I mean, jesus, it took me 3 months. And yes, they are British lads. And you know how it is in the UK; they always have this breathy, euphoric beats in every song and you just never get tired of it. One of my favorites from their self-titled album is The City. GIVE IT A LISTEN.

YOU SHOULD ALSO LISTEN TO THEIR SONG Chocolate!!! Also Robbers and Menswear. You should probably just give their new album a listen, yes. I'm planning to own a physical copy; it's that good.

I just found out that y very good friend, Steven, is a fan of Arctic Monkeys and I basically jumped up and down when he told me. Hi Steven (yes Steven Comandante, you) this goes out for you. I am really in love with song. It's ridiculously good and it reminds me of... this person. I feel like I'm this suave mister at 21 who walks around town whenever I listen to this song REALLY.

ANYWAY, American Horror Story: Coven came out last week OH, MY GOD. First episode and someone important dies already but don't worry, he'll back. This is horror (and witchcraft, might I add), my friends. There are a lot of stretches and twists. I liked Asylum but it never really clicked within me but Coven sure did. TAISSA FARMIGA IS BACK, EVERYONE. And she's a witch and I love her character so much. Emma Roberts is part of the cast, too but.... I can't believe I'm saying this but... I do not approve. I mean, yes I loved how they cast her as a movie star but I think her relationship with Evan Peters ruined the plot for me; I am very sorry. PLS DON'T SUE ME. Anyway I hope the ship sails on between Kyle and Zoe because if not, then I'll throw a fit and cry fifty-six bags of stones.

LOOK AT THEM OH MY GOD THIS IS DEPRESSING.

jesus take the wheel may the lord bless us all with his glory

The stars are all alined for me and the odds are in my favor. Sembreak will be fun these babies and I can't wait HEHEEHHEHE.

But before that, I would like to say that I'm very tired and there are a lot of  requirements everywhere I'm crying. And sometimes

Art School

I finally finished this book! (And, might I add that I finally own this book. I started reading this in Fully Booked and yup, I never bought it. I would like to send my deepest apologies to Fully Booked for abusing my rights and privileges as a reader. I promise to see myself as  a better individual and most importantly, in this case, as a consumer. Anyway, it's looking good with all the other books in my self-proclaimed bookshelf.) (More of that in the future.)

This book is good. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure the word "good" doesn't give it justice but I think this is one of those things that when given more compliments, it becomes nauseatingly bad and irksome. It's like giving a child too much of what he wants; and it's bad for his health. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book. I gave it five stars in Goodreads. The characters are so... true and  the author did a pretty great job in telling the story of the alienating adult world. Decisions, the pressure, realizations and the fear of growing up.
Colby and Bev have a long-standing pact: graduate, hit the road with Bev's band, and then spend the year wandering around Europe. But moments after the tour kicks off, Bev makes a shocking announcement: she's abandoning their plans - and Colby - to start college in the fall.

But the show must go on and The Disenchantments weave through the Pacific Northwest, playing in small towns and dingy venues, while roadie- Colby struggles to deal with Bev's already-growing distance and the most important question of all: what's next?

The alternate cover.

And of course there's always The Perfect Actress/Actor for This Character. Lily Loveless has always been Bev for me. The girl on the cover, the one wearing the yellow cardigan, is gorgeous and perfect BUT THIS IS LILY LOVELESS. Her metallic blonde hair and SHE'S LILY FREAKING LOVELESS. (And no, I'm not going to talk about Skins and Naomi and Emily right now.)

Also, I can't stop thinking about the VW van, Melinda. In my head, it's this robin's egg blue van, pretty old with a few rusts in the delicate sides. (No picture for you to see what I mean, I want you to visualize it on your own hehe.) It's my favorite object in the book. I don't know, I think it's because we used to own a red one. I used to ride in it with my uncle and it was very glorious, wow??? He'd pick me up in school with that van. I miss it so much and I think that's why I fell in love with this book? I regret not giving it a name like it was my pet, like it was mine. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE MY FAMILY SOLD IT TO SOME STRANGER IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. HEY FAMILY I HOPE YOU'RE READING THIS, I'M STILL MAD.

Anyway, watching book trailers is not my hobby but this one gave me an idea about the places they've been, the people they met and the things they did. Turns out that it's pretty close to what I was imagining while reading hehehe.

And of course, the soundtrack of the whole trip. This is my first time to hear this song and wow, why am I not a fan of girl bands? Then came The Marvelettes and Heart. I have yet to listen to their music but I think the way Alexa and Meg drools over these bands, I know they won't disappoint.

I wish to encounter another novel like this: vibrant and screaming with music. Thank God for Nina LaCour. You should definitely read this book.

She killed it with kisses

Rainy season began when May was slowly hiding and giving way for June and sadly, school has officially started and I know some of us still has that summer vibe going on in our systems and really, I can't blame you because it feels as if we ran out of time and ideas on what we should've done. I never even got the chance to go the beach and have a proper ~summer vibe~. And then I came across this really nice mix on 8tracks and I danced around the house because it sounds so good and chill and "summery". Yes, summer is over but you can always listen to this mix and forget about the stress and take a break hehehe. The first song is one of my favorites and it always puts me on a good mood (it's Passion Pit's Little Secrets and whoops sorry for the spoiler).

And this is another mix I found and it will surely out you on a good mood. The Naked & Famous, The Kooks, MGMT and Two Door Cinema Club. Yes, I think you're interested now in giving this mix a listen because of those four bands I mentioned. And the best part is this is a ninety-track mix. Enjoy.

The first time I saw this video, I had goosebumps all over (and okay, maybe I cried a little) because I don't know how someone can do something like this. This is from the Glastonbury Festival, 2010. Man, how I wish I was there. This song is one of my favorites and if I were to die the next day, this will be one of the songs I would love to hear before I pass. There are times when I get sad and very hormonal and then boom, I open my computer and search this on youtube. This version of the song is one of the reasons why I'm still breathing (naks). And look at the crowd!!! So glorious. It's like the crowd is one with Florence and I think it's the best part of a concert, when you're connected with the performer and everything is perfect and nothing hurts huhu. It's like heaven is welcoming you with this angel hehehe. I would love to see Florence + The Machine live. Because I have to be there when she performs this song and it will be the best moment of my life.

I don't like being very articulate when it comes to writing down my feelings but when it comes to songs, you can't stop me HAHAHA. Just listen to these songs and you will be ~happy and gay~ (◕ヮ◕)*:・゚ *:・゚

Here I am again professing my undying love for Vampire Weekend. Now I know their new album has been up on iTunes for a few weeks now but it was only yesterday that I realized, OH MY GOD VAMPIRE WEEKEND. I was a bit disappointed when it came out because I can't give it a listen right away (it really sucks not having an Apple account and a credit card.... but I'm okay.)

Anyway, three songs from their new album, Modern Vampires of the City, are streamed on youtube and here they are:

This is probably my favorite song off their new album and i don't know why but whenever I listen to this song, every bad feeling goes away and the good vibes start to radiate my system and I sound weird (maybe) but I am really in love with this song. Please understand oh my god. I could listen to this song for 89479832 years and never get tired of it....

My point is, Vampire Weekend is one of the bands who keep on getting better and better in time. And I know I should be stating reasons why I love them and how I see their music as a fan and a supporter of their music, but is it really necessary? (it's not that I ran out of words to say; believe me, I do sometimes but okay let's face it, I have better reasons hehe.)

I can't describe how this band makes me happy and ecstatic every time I listen to them. And if you're a fan of their music, I think you'll understand the fact that I Ur A Contra gives you so much feels and how fitting it is to listen to them while driving by somewhere with trees and the sun almost setting and the grass so green OKAY. You see, there's always a Vampire Weekend song for every situation. I guarantee you that.

And yes, YES, YES, my dad said he'd try to get me their new album for my birthday and I can't help but scream and yell and sing and GOD BLESS THAT MAN. And I think it's time for you to screencap this portion because in case my dad forgets huehuehuhe. He just told me yesterday and I'm so stoked woooo. (Anyway, Contra is still in 800 bucks and Fully Booked won't give it a discount and........okay.)

CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW PRETTY THIS PICTURE IS AND IT'S SO CLEAR AND HIGH QUALITY????????

I'm sorry if I can't stop talking about them it's just that..... never mind. I'm really looking forward to seeing them soon (*coughs* Wanderland 2014 please *coughs). (I don't know if I want to see them this year I mean, hell yeah I'd love to see them anytime of the year but then again, we have to consider the fact that I'm only sixteen, I don't have enough money and I have a lot going on in my life like japanese food and studying.)

BAHAHAHAHAA I'M SORRY I JUST HAD TO OH MY GOD

Long story short, I love Vampire Weekend and their new album, despite the fact that I only heard three tracks.

I love Vampire Weekend good bye.

Two Reflections into One

I've been blabbing about this song for weeks now and I think you guys should listen to this song because.... I don't know. It's just that this song is so sweet and catchy and it tells a lot about the life of a man in love (I ran out of words to say but, whatever). Well Justin mentioned it once in an interview: this song is inspired by his grandparents, Sadie and William (did I get that right?) and their 60-year marriage. After William's death, Sadie gave Justin their wedding ring as a gift. And now I guess this song also represents Justin's hopes of being with his wife for 60 years or longer.

MY POINT IS, this song is so sweet and and all lovey-dovey and..........SO SWEET...........AND ACCURATE.

ANYWAY, Jessica Biel is a very lucky woman. Justin Timberlake is a very good artist and I admire him very much and I love him and ahh I love his new album.

I just really love this song good bye people I am gone.

AAAHHH

SO THIS JUST HAPPENED AND I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FEEL. Well the first time I knew I was on twitter and everyone was like "okay time to save for August" and I was like, okay, what's going on? And I swear to God I felt something weird and then boom I saw this on facebook and screamed for 75 years. I don't really know how to explain what happened next but I was crying--like legit crying and sobbing and heaving. Okay judge me but I've been waiting for this to happen and I can't believe that's it's finally going to happen in three months. Three months might be a long time for others but seriously, I think I'm running out of time. Three months is an awfully short time because hello what happened to 2013, we're almost halfway done with this year and I'm just here???

Okay so enough of this now. I would like to thank that 11:11 wish the other night before the announcement. I wished for "fall out boy". I wasn't even wishing for something like "fall out boy live Manila!" just plain "fall out boy" and aaaaaahh this happened. Okay I probably don't make any sense at all but I'm really happy! After 4879327493 years of waiting they're back huhu. See you all there!

Anyway, Vampire Weekend has a new album! Modern Vampires of the City was released last May 6th, 2013, Monday. It is said that the "record's main themes are love and mortality and the lyrics contain darker literary allusions."

Like I said in one of my previous blog posts, I love Vampire Weekend. I can't wait to have this on my iPod and listen to it 25/8.

It's a great year for music, yeah?

My Own Narnia

Okay so you know that feeling you get when you're on youtube and then you come across this very great, glorious song? Well I get that a lot. Earlier this day I was watching some video about something (I forgot wow), and then I clicked and clicked and clicked and voila I am in the good part of youtube. Then I saw a comment, saying that it's the "Narnia of Youtube". It's true, though! Everything about it is good huhu. If you still don't know what I'm talking about then here you go.

I love this band so much! Please give them a listen.... The first time I heard a song of theirs was when I was watching MTV and at first I didn't like them but then the second time I gave them a good listen and ahhh I love them very much. I regret nothing.

I only have one song by them but then again, youtube made me change my mind.

The only thing missing is a good road trip to the beach and some good friends. I'm so bored and I resemble a rotting vegetable because of the weather and the boredom and the lack of activities. I've been studying a lot lately but I am not having fun. Well I do have some fun because I've been listening to a lot of good music lately but it's not enough UGH. Please take me away from here.

Anyway I would like to say hi to my good friend, Julia. This blog post is for you. I miss you, nigga! I'll send you more music in the next future ehehe.

(Also, they have zero dislikes!!!!)

I really love summer music so...

One of the few things I love about summer is the music. Especially when it's all dance-y and electronic and full of life hihi. Also when it's very loud!!! I don't know but that's how I feel about music every summer, it feels so... free and liberated. I hope you get meeeeee.

Anyway, here is my summer playlist (naks). I've been listening to these songs quite a lot. You'll know what I mean if you gave them a listen.

This is definitely my favorite. Well one of my favorites. It's like God collaborated with them while making this music. It's great and it sounds so chill and ahh. Life is good.

Drive around late at night. Listen to this song. On a high volume. Roll down your windows. You are welcome.

Self-explanatory. I love Vampire Weekend as much as I love breathing.

This band is so underrated and I swear to God, they are GOOD! I think they deserve more media attention?

If you were at Coachella last 14th, then I hate you. Joking. Ugh consider yourself lucky and blessed because Two Door Cinema Club was there along with The XX. I watched Coachella, too, you know. In my computer screen. Ha-ha-ha.

This song is so sweet I want to jump off a building. Also because it has a lot of feeling in it. Marriage equality should be legalized EVERYWHERE. And yes, congrats to New Zealand for they are now an equal country. They should've played this song the other day haha. But yes I really love this song. Love is patient; Love is kind.

The Maine and This Century finally released their new singles!!! I'm so happy because they were released on the same day!!! These bands never fail to disappoint aaahhh.

SO THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED. I KNOW RIGHT. ALL MY FAVORITE PEOPLE IN ONE VIDEO. LET THE YELLING COMMENCE. Okay so this is very unexpected. Just look at Dan and Phil, trying to contain themselves from fangirling!!! These boys are big fans of Fall Out Boy. I mean, look at Dan, he professed his love for their music. Jesus, just watch the video! IT WAS VERY FUNNY. Just imagine them interviewing Muse HAHAHA.

(I can't help but notice Dan's height. He's taller than everybody.)

Well this is me professing my love for these bands and two youtubers. No big deal.

The Weekend Warriors

Yesterday was filled with unexpected happenings and unplanned events, all thanks to Aaron and Lara.

You know those movies with teenagers as the main protagonists? And the story is about this certain teenager stuck at home on a Saturday night with nothing to do. And one phone call changes it all. This literally happened to me yesterday. The original plan was to wait for Sam in ATC so we could go to Lara's place right after her game in Ayala. My dad dropped me off at around 12 pm and I strolled around for a while since I had nothing else to do. Then I headed straight to Jamba Juice because 1) they have wifi; 2) I want steel-cut oatmeal and 3) THEY HAVE WIFI! So I stayed there for a while. I was kind of frustrated because their wifi just kind of stopped working while I was busy doing "something". So I proceeded on reading Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist.

Then Lara called and bam, things happened. They arrived 20 minutes (or so) after the call (Happy Birthday Aaron!). So we stayed there for a good one hour. And then Lara and I talked to Gab Mesina huhu. She's like the blogging goddess and Sam, Lara and I worship her. She said hi to me and Lara and I can't help but fangirl because she spelled my name right, even though it's obvious that she could've copied my name BUT STILL. SHE SPELLED MY NAME RIGHT!

Anyway, I convinced Jeromy to join us instead of finishing his Filipino thesis. I am such a bad friend. So we left Jamba Juice and waited for Jesse to arrive and we are now a company of four. Thirty minutes after, Jeromy arrived and YAY FOR FOOD! We ate at Shakey's and had a good time talking about everything and sharing our corny jokes. Sam arrived from Yellow Cab. Then she left Shakey's again. The she came back. It's like a pizza joint field trip for Sam, I swear.

We went to Topman so Aaron could buy a shirt for himself. And it felt so rad because earlier that day, we went to Topman and the song was Next Year by Two Door Cinema Club. And when we came back, the same song was playing. I swear this is a sign. And we wandered around Nike, Sebago and Metro. I swear there were a lot of things like: The Seluma (just think about Sebago being old and ugly and you'll get it), the doppelganger floor, "Lining" and many many more. Inside jokes are the best huhu. (Not entirely sure if I arranged our adventure in a chronological manner but whatever, I had fun.)

Aaron and Jesse had to leave aww. So we group hugged while walking to the escalator. I'm not really sure if people were staring but I think they were because we looked weird, walking while we were in a huddle. Aaron's mom was so sweet and nice hehe. Sam, Lara, Jeromy and I were the only ones who stayed so we decided to go to Topshop. And then Jeromy and I looked at the lacy panties. It was very awkward. And then this shirt with a rocket ship. And then I tried this white dress on huhu. It looks pretty but it was very pricey. Plus, I think I won't use it often since I'm not a big fan of dresses. Sad.

The day ended and so we headed over to Lara's. The song Mr. Brightside by The Killers would be a very good song to describe our adventure. Runaway also by The Killers and Young Blood by The Naked and Famous would be a great soundtrack for our day out. I swear I had all the feels because I felt happy in an accidental way. One moment I'm in a juice joint reading something and then bam, I'm with good friends. I love this day.

I don't have decent pictures so I stole this from Sam and Lara ehehe:

(don't mind me on the third picture huhu I look horrible ew)

I hope this is not the last. I would love to hang out with the same people again. I hope you had a great Saturday, too! I am so blessed to have these weirdoes as my best friends hihi.

We went straight to Lara's place and watched a movie. Geek Charming it is. And then we stalked people on facebook HAHAHA. I guess we were really tired because we slept pretty early. Which isn't normal because we would normally sleep at around 2 or 3 am. We slumped at around 1. I don't know. I was the first one to wake up and guess what, Lara and Sam were still asleep and I was very hungry huhu.

And so when they awoke, we ate lunch and watched Ruby Sparks. Too bad I had to leave early. We bought some milk tea and then this happened:

God bless these people.
